Pharmaceutical company MSD is expanding its global IT hub in Prague.

„MSD´s decision to expand its IT hub in Prague seems to confirm Prague´s long term attractivity for setting up and expanding offices of international companies. Prague offers quality workforce, strong infrastructure, excellent life conditions and also technologically advanced office buildings," comments Petr Kareš, Head of Tenant Representation of JLL, whose team selected the office buildings and negotiated lease terms for MSD.

"We are very pleased with the IT talent here in Prague, and their passion for MSD's mission of saving and improving lives around the world," said Richard Branton, MSD Vice President and CTO. "With the success of our global IT hub here, we are looking to expand our team to include more software engineers, project management, and IT operations employees."

Prague IT hub, in which MSD has invested more than a billion crowns, is engaged in software engineering, IT operations, digital marketing, provides mathematical modelling and business analysis, and examines the use of mobile technology in healthcare. Examples of technology being developed in the hub include business applications for sales management, production, research and development of drugs, business administration and project management. The center employs more than 500 people. It was opened in 2015 in the Riverview, prime office project developed by Skanska Property Czech Republic.

The modern Five office building, again developed by Skanska Property Czech Republic, will soon reach its highest point. It´s located in an adjacent street in Prague's Smíchov area, on the site of a former tram depot. MSD shall occupy roughly half of the building's total lease area of 14,400 m2.
